I'm getting ready in the next few days to apply for some new cards. I like what I've read about the Chase Sapphire Preferred for travel and I'd like to get into AMEX. My objective is to acquire a card for travel (CSP) and eventuly the AMEX Platinum for the benefits.
I'm wondering about the best strategy, should I apply to Chase and AMEX on the same day? Why do folks use AMEX's charge card and revolver? What is the best way to apply for both at the same time? Should I apply for an AMEX revolver, do the 3X CL thing and then apply for the CSP? Is there an advantage to applying on the phone vs online?
