Called and it was declined for Inquiries.
I asked what is to many.
She said usually anything over 7.
I was like yeah right, forget that... won't be a target credit customer ever again if that is the case.
That's STUPID! it's target... get off your high horse!
Over seven they say? I had 26 at my approval the other day.
interesting... any reconing with them or computer only?
Instant approval...$2k.
TD Bank is extremely stingy with credit line increases. You may go 2 or 3 years before they offer to raise your limit and even then, it's only by a few hundred. Steer clear of that card.

High Standards at Target:
Wait a minute - you mean we're not Nordstrom? Here I thought our clothes were similar
or even
In all seriousness, though, CA, I'm sorry it didn't work out. It does sound as if Target is trying to implement these silly, overly high standards and act as though they were Nordstrom.
Plus, Target's starting credit limits are usually reported to be $300 or so and I don't know whey they are being so tough on you. Sorry.

Is this ever not a denial? They seem like such a computer driven company that if it's not instant, it's declined, no?
As a "heads up" for anyone applying for the target card: No, this is not always a denial. I applied online a week and a half ago and got 7-10 day message. Came on here and read that this was always a denial (Target employees stated this, mind you). Well, my card arrived yesterday with a SL of $1000, which is not bad for target according to reports.
It's got to be something else than inquiries, though they may not be saying it. I have 22 and got approved with scores in the low 600s.
