I had received auto clis from Barclay every 6 months like clockwork since opening my card. My recent 6 month window passed a few days ago and I didn't receive an increase. So today I called up and played dumb, APR reduction to 19.99% and an SP increase of $2,500, brining my CL up to $12,300. I got the card just over 2 years ago post BK with an SL of $1,800.
I just tried this technique.
I've had 9 statements now, and had given in to one HP increase 2 months ago.
Results: 1% reduction.
No SP CLI offer available. Rep said not to quote her on it, but it could happen "at the year mark" and that my account was "new". (I also reminded her I had the Best Western Barclay card for over 6 years with perfect history, good CL, but they sold that card to another bank and it doesn't count).
I PIF every month but maybe I am not running enough through the card.
So guess it needs more time.
Read this thread and was motivated to try it out. In may 2016 I apped for a arrival+ and jet blue card. On both I did not get an instant decision but both eventually went through. My credit score at the time was about 720. The arrival was for 10k and the jet blue for 1.5k. Called them a few mins ago starting with jet blue and got my apr from 20 to 16% and they offered me an increase of 500 dollars which was what I really wanted. Then inquired about the arrival+ and was given 16% apr once again from 20% and then offered 4k cli which I also took. I was also offered 2 balance transfer offers one for 0% another for 3%. So a very productive 10 mins for me. My go to card is my marriot rewards as I prefer the points so I have probably only run 600 through both cards total since I have had them and they were always pif so the balances were zero at the time of my call. This was my first cli from them and I did not ask about the cli it was offered the first time. Then once she looked at the other account she ask would you like that as well.
Did not read through all 49 pages of this thread. Anyone having success with SP on a Barclay Ring? I've had $10K for 1.5 years I've had the card and it's been in the SD for several months.
I didnt read the 49 pages either just the first 3 post and I called and it worked. Apparently either their system has an offer for you or it doesnt. I have had them for less than 6 months and barely used the cards. Call and if the offer isnt there you lost nothing but 5 mins.
The fresh replies reminded me that it was time to try again. I haven't contacted them for a possible CLI for my Rewards card since September. The call started with me getting a representive from a far off land. My first thought was "**bleep**! This isn't going to go anywhere". I asked about an APR decrease. The woman checked and said she would submit a request then told me she would have to transfer me. Okay, the door was open so I had a chance. I spoke with an account specialist who checked to see if he could lower my APR. It was reduced by one point (16.24%). He has if I had any other questions so I asked if there were any other offers avaialble like a SP CLI. He checked and said they don't have anything else for my account at this time but noticed that I also have an Apple Rewards card so he checked to see if there was anything available for that one. He was also to take a point off of that one too. It's now down to 14.24%.
No CLI but it was still a productive call.
I guess its a hit or miss with this Barclay SP CLI..
I have the Barclay JetBlue Mastercard since August of this yr. and now have an itch to request CLI.
Just gambled a CLI HP from Chase and I think I lost the gamble for only getting upped 1K.
Don't feel like sacrificing another HP.

Sorry for the late response (and for necroing this thread) but unforunately, this does not work with the Ring card. I called and they stated this card is not eligible for an APR lower than what I had (8.25%) and that any increase would require a hard pull. I literally only put a balance on this card just so that they wouldn't have the excuse of saying "the card is never used" and that did not help. Afterwards, I paid the balance off and put it away.
I made this thread for the sole purpose of attempting to get a soft pull CLI for the Barclaycard Ring as it has the lowest APR of any card that is easy for the general public to get (with eligible credit scores). My answer turned out to be a big fat "no" but during this mission I think this thread helped many people lower their APR's and credit limits so I suppose it was worth it. Good luck and happy crediting!
