My balances are as follows
AMEX BLUE CASH 21/ 2000 DISCOVER 2600/2900 CHASE SLATE 4000/5000 BOFA 6000/8000 CITI FORWARD 3500/9200 CITI PLATINUM 7200/8000 CREDIT UNION 4500/5000 DCU 2000/5000
I used 65% of my Credit
I applied most of this cards on June July of 2013... thats the reason may be my scores are low... Amex, Dis, chase, bofa, and citi both cards had incraesed my limit in June... I will pay off Disc and Chase end of Jan... My parents came for a vacation from overseas so I had used all the cards.... So you say I shd not ask Amex to increase my limit?
I'm sorry, your parents used almost 30K out of your 45K credit lines on vacation? A bit excessive...
They did a new soft pull?? I thought they always use a previous pull
@jason7613 wrote:Hit day 61 today and decided to go for it. Initially had a 10k line (acct opening) and went for 24k to stay under any radar. Instant approved. Scores are around 690-700 and total util is about 4% with the Amex card at about the same at time of app. Was a soft hit.

It was probably another AR inquiry which Amex does a slew of during the first few months. May be an exception on the first one or maybe they've changed their policy though but it'd be hard to tell without more anecdotal data. I only pull my real EX report once a year and likely that's the case for most others here too so it'd be a bit before it's really known.
Or could be the user in question was simply inferring a soft inquiry from the fact no HP was noted by the various credit monitoring solutions.
Quick question- I'm a few months overdue for this since I just found out - have had my amex since May
I just got a few new cards this month ... should I hit the button on this cli before they report or wait?
Success! How I love these forums! I never would have known...or even gotten my Amex, for that matter!

I've had my Amex Blue card since summer, July I think.
Initially was given opeing CL of 7,500.
Just remembered about this today and decided it was time.
Went for just a flat 20,000 and was instantly approved.
Well, tried for the 3x cli again and got denied. No counter offer either. Oh well, can't complain about $6K can I? American Express pulled Ex with a credit score of 770. My income was the only factor in it. $35k a year.

Very nice! Congrats!!
I submitted my 3X CLI increase, they denied my request and requested tax info, I gave it to them and only got $1,500 increase.
Does this mean I have to wait 6 months to get my next one? Also, 6 months from when? Original request date or the day they increased my account?
