Yeah I forgot to check. I have my credit card spreadsheet and one of the tabs is all denials and dates. I forgot to check it first, I won't make the mistake again. Did I reset the 91 day clock?
Yes I've added a lot of new accounts. BoA Virgin Atlantic (which was 50/50 new credit + reallocation), Macy's (only store acct has reported), Nasa, Penfed and Dillards just reported. Amex will probably FR me lol.
I hope not.
Ok, well I have an update. I chatted online with AMEX and the guy gave me a number to call to find out what was going on. Apparently they used a SP from August, right after I got my 2 cards with them (and 2 others!). I even checked my recent soft pulls from AMEX and they have been SP'ing me 2-3x weekly, so I'm wondering why they used one from then. Anyways, they're reconsidering for me right now, because I informed the nice lady that my score has gone up since then. Wish me luck!
I was just approved tonight. Got my Everyday card in mid July with a limit of $5,500. I requested $16,500 for a new limit and the system countered with $11,300. I accepted and saw the increase right away.
Edit:
Balance on the card is $1800 because I'm taking advantage of the 0% APR. Utilization between 14 credit cards is about 37%. New auto loan from Mercedes Benz Financial for $55,000 opened in July right after getting my Everyday card and another auto loan from Navy Federal for $40,000 opened in August. Also got a Chase Freedom card in July on the same day I applied for the Everday card with a limit of $6000. Income is $97500. I've come a long way since joining this site in 2008 with no credit cards and debt collectors calling me for old accounts. Hope that's all the info needed to help others.
So I screwed up and apped for my 180 day 3x CLI a day early (10/19/14@10:00pm). Got the 7-10 day notice. Checked the status on chat and sure enough, I was declined. Rep said I couldn't try again until April of 2015, but could call the CLI Dept in the morning and try for a recon.
So I decided to try again this morning before calling (10/20/14@5:30am). Got the Luv instantly! Went from 9k to 25k!
This tells us that doing your CLI a day or two early does NOT reset the clock, regardless of what the reps may tell you.
My journey started with AMEX with an initial credit line of 7k. I then ran up about 2400 on it, and was paying only the minimum so they knocked it back to 3k. Did a PIF and stuck it in the sock drawer. Fast forward to April of this year and tried the 3x CLI and moved it to 9k. Now at 25k. Only put about 700 on it since the April CLI.
Initial CL: 9,000
61 day/181 day CLI: (please indicate whether 61day/181day also): 181 day
Amex Utilization @ CLI: $42 on a 9k limit
Overall Utilization @ Last EX Soft Pull: 8.35% over 7 cards, and a LOC
Ratio of Income/(Overall Available Credit) (4 decimal places): 2.6541
Number of new credit lines opened since opening Amex account or last Amex CLI: 1-auto
Total $$ value of all transactions since Amex account opening or last Amex CLI: ~3500
lol didn't get too much here, but it could be my income vs available credit (ratio is less than 1 as I have more credit than I make in a year).
MyFico/Other Handle: Raccoon290
Initial CL: 5000->10000->14200 (Most recent CL)
61 day/181 day CLI: (please indicate whether 61day/181day also): 181 Day, 14200->16200
Amex Utilization @ CLI: 1.54%
Overall Utilization @ Last EX Soft Pull: 3.86%
Ratio of Income/(Overall Available Credit) (4 decimal places): 0.8814
Number of new credit lines opened since opening Amex account or last Amex CLI: 0
Total $$ value of all transactions since Amex account opening or last Amex CLI: $1,403.39
So yeah, it wasn't really a 3x CLI for me so much as a 1.14x CLI but it's still better than I had expected given that I thought I'd get denied for my income/credit ratio.
Just reading this article I've had jet blue Amex for three years... Do I ask for an increase of the initial 3 years ago or can I ask for the cl I have now? The CL I have now is 4200...

3x your current CL, assuming you haven't requested & got one in the last 181 days. So you'd be able to ask for $12600 (an increase of $8400 is what you'd ask for on the form.).
If it was the initial limit, then you'd only be able to get a 3x increase once.
I have a balance should I pay it all off or can i ask for cli now?
From a quick cursory reading, is the correct methodology outlined below, correct?
-after 61 days from open date and request 3x the initial CL.
-wait 180 days and ask for another credit limit that is 3x current CL as long as it is not over 25k
-wait 180 days and ask yet again for another CL to be 25,000 if you have not met said limit.
Is that the theory in a nutshell? Also, what happens if you request more than 3x the initial CL after 60 days - will it automatically be denied? Thanks in advance for clarification if I have missed the mark.
