Love seeing this, my dp's are similar. Although, I'm waiting until June...

Congrats!

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

What should be my next move?

About a month ago I got my second 3X for my BCE. SL was 1700, then 4200, now at 12600. My thought is that my next 3X will obviously be pushing it (36k).

But I just added the SPG for 2k and the Hilton for 1k.

Can I, should I, move some available credit from the BCE to one of those so that when I'm up for my next 3X in five months I can get more bang for my buck while staying under the limit of income verfication?

Started on July 4th, 2016 with 400's FAKO scores, no FICO, a dozen baddies and no credit of any kind.

As of March 2018, Before The Fall:
AmEx Blue Cash Everyday: $12,600
Chase Sapphire Preferred: $10,000
Bank Of America BankAmericard: $6,000
Capital One Quicksilver One: $5,500
Citi Diamond Preferred: $5,400
NFCU Cash Rewards Visa Signature: $5,100
NFCU Go Rewards MasterCard World: $5,000
Wells Fargo Propel: $3,500
Barclay's Uber Visa: $2,500
AmEx Starwood Preferred Guest: $2,000
Citi Double Cash: $1,500
AmEx Hilton Honors: $1,000
Discover It: $600
Capital One Platinum: $500

TOTAL 2018 CREDIT LINE: $61,200

JUNE 2023 UPDATE
2020: COVID toppled me. All old accounts went into default. Business lost. Car repossessed.
2021: Cap1 let me back in (one secured/two not). Secured Mission Lane. AU on AMEX Gold, Citi Premier and Chase Sapphire. Car loan approved without cosigner for $20,000. All current.
Currently: No lawsuits. Thinking most SOL have expired on CC debt. Fingers crossed my math and memory are correct.

CURRENT SITUATION:
Mission Lane Secured: $3,400 (SL $400 -- unasked for CLI)
Capital One Secured: $300
Capital One QS1: $300
Capital One Savor: $1,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred: $10,000 (AU)
AMEX Gold: No Preset Limit (AU)
Citi Premier: $8,500 (AU)

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Assuming your profile only continues to strengthen, your income is sufficient and you're using the card a good amount, I would say you could get a near 3X CLI again.  If I were you I'd start at the 3X CLI amount, then back it down to $35k if you're prompted for IV, if so back it down to $34.5k and if still IV is shown back it down to $30k.  I think you'd at least be able to push it to $30k.  From there on out, you may be looking at $5k CLIs every 6 months, assuming you're not willing to provide IV to bump your limit faster.

I went from $10k --> $30k --> $35k --> $40k --> $45k just to provide you with a reference point and with each of those increases I backed everything down in $1k increments, so I'm 100% certain I didn't leave anything on the table with any of them (except perhaps $500).

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

I’m in similar situation that I’m trying to decide what to do. I got the ED and BCE cards back in May 2017 both with SL’s of 2k. In November the BCE was increased to a CL of 18k. My ED is still at 2k. I’m trying to decide what the better play is; to move the limit for the ED to the BCE or try to increase the limit of the ED to a similar CL in the future? Thoughts?

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

If Amex permits you to move limits, wouldn't the best bang for your buck always be to continue to request 3X CLIs (or as big of a CLI as you can get) on the card with the greater limit, then just move some of that limit post-CLI to your lower limit card?

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Good point. I didn’t think about it in that way. I was wondering if for some odd reason it was easier to get two cards with limits close to each other versus one with a massive limit. So for example, two cards with limits of say 35k, versus one with a limit of like 50k.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Same for me, BBS.  I'm at 24K.  What do you think I should ask for?  I'm certainly not going to get 72K.
