Those that have reconned a Citi SL?

I was looking through the credit pulls database at Citi cards today and noticed multiple people that indicated a certain SL then in the comments section wrote that they called and successfully reconned the SL.  In some examples the recon seemed pretty significant, such as a $3k SL being reconnec to $10k with a phone call.

Since the credit pulls database is limited to basically a single sentence of additional data, I'd like to hear more from anyone on here that was able to recon a Citi SL.  First of all, are these recons just SPs or do they ever involve a HP?  No one in the credit pulls database indicated either way.  For those that have reconned a Citi SL, if you could provide some info on it I would appreciate the feedback.  Which card did you get, what was your SL and what did you recon it to?  What did you tell them on the phone and how did the conversation go?  If you could also provide a little info on your profile such as your approval score etc. that would be helpful.  Thanks for any datapoints that are provided here on this topic.

Re: Those that have reconned a Citi SL?

Thanks for the feedback and link.  So it seems that recon CLIs are at the expense of another HP... sort of similar to Chase.  Has anyone had an experience where they were able to get a SL recon without another HP?

Re: Those that have reconned a Citi SL?

I received my card in the mail over the weekend. I hit the CLI online and received a letter stating I have to wait at least 6 months for a CLI. I called and spoke with a rep 10 minutes ago who took down all of my information and told me that she would pass it on the a specialist. She told me the would have a decision in 24 hours. She took my number and said they would call me tomorrow or I could call and find out the decision. My approval was $1,800. I asked for $10,000. My scores are: EX 714 EQ 700 TU 698. I'll post tomorrow the outcome.

When the card first came out, I was approved for $2,000 and got it raised to $8,000. Like others have stated it was a hp.

Re: Those that have reconned a Citi SL?

For those that did use another HP after approval to increase their limit... was the HP on a different bureau than the one that was used for the original approval?  Does Citi typically single-pull applicants or are they known to double-pull?

If they only single-pull and would pull a second bureau upon a CLI request after approval, that would only be 2 pulls (1 on 2 bureaus) which still beats creditors like Capital One that get you on all 3B (without a CLI post approval).

Re: Those that have reconned a Citi SL?

Citi does not do SP's, except in those instances where you specifically see the SP language for a CLI within your account. You will see many others reporting the same if you search the threads. Smiley Happy

Searching the threads will also show you that Citi often double-pulls and is not beyond pulling a third time when asked for a recon.

I was approved for a $10K SL, called when the card arrived, and a CLI was approved to $20K.  It is a secon pull, of course!!

Re: Those that have reconned a Citi SL?

Just received a recorded call from Citi stating my CLI wasn't approved. I will receive a letter in the mail in 7 to 10 days. I'm sure I'll be able to view the denial online in a day or two. I'll keep you all posted. I didn't receive an alert that my credit was pulled again but maybe I'll get the alert tomorrow. They're usually slow.
