This is Barclay's standard process for identity verification. Especially since the Equifax breach, this request has become more frequent.

Mind sharing some other data points? AAoA, recent HP's, existing accounts with Barclays, utilization? Income definitely factors into determining credit lines and increases, but is not as big of a factor for approval.

have 1 secured card with BoA and discover .. total $1200
I make payments way before time .. upto 5 times a months LOL .. to be able to use the card ..
didn't know that applying hurt your score .. had score of 689 on TU now 672
got 3rd card approved .. but simulator tells me that score would hit 660 .. as it would reduce the overrall avg account history period.

I'd say its the young portfolio that hurt you most. I also have a thin portfolio, and am gardening for the forseeable future.
I know .. and its super annoying!!
How come your salay can't be considerded into your credit-worthiness.
