Honestly just think it is another data point for predective modeling if they do extend credit to a student. I don't think it has any releveance if offering them credit, but what it does do is allows them to start collecting data for default rates on different gpa's, etc for future targeting. I work in this field, not with credit cards currently although have worked for them in the past, but just another data point to do analitics with and predictions.
