Ok, there appears to be some confusion from your post. It appears/sounds like you mentioned there are (2) BofA cards, what is the current credit limit and what kind of product is for each card?
Bank of america visa platinum plus 500 ( SECURED) opened in 2008 march. Now unsecured and the limit was 12500
BANK OF cash rewards visa signature opened in march 2012 intial limit was 5000.. Decreased it to 2500 in march 2012 and asked to post 2500 to visa platinum. At that time my in march 2012 visa platinum plus was 10,000 card and increased to 12500.
bank of cash rewards visa signature. 2500.
now cash rewards visa signature limit increased from 2500 to 10,000.
thanks.
congrats on the huge CLI!

now cash rewards visa signature limit increased from 2500 to 10,000. This card will not report the limit on the CR since it is a Visa Signature product. Only the balance (high credit) on this card will be reported whenever any of the following occur: (a) mid-cycle reporting if any changes occur on your account (i.e. address changes, product changes, etc) and/or (b) if you let any balance report at the end of the statement cycle.
thanks.

Correct - for BofA Visa Signature products, the CLs do not report. However, it really depends on whether you want to downgrade your current Visa Signature to Platinum (a matter of preference if utilization/reporting is important to you).
The EMV smart chip technology gives the card greater acceptance when you travel outside of the U.S. (i.e. the UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, etc.) and provides better security. Most establishments (e.g. Europe/Asia) have issues reading from the standard mag stripe.
