Hi all! I have been lurking in these forums for months as I worked on reducing debt and bringing up my scores.
Last weekend, I got a prequalification from Amex for a True Earnings card. I went ahead and applied and was approved instantly for a $2000 credit line.
Then, I got greedy and applied for the BCE as well. I got an 'in progress' notice and have called everyday since then to try to get an answer. Finally today, I get a more powerful CSR on the line and after a 5 minute hold, he approved me for a $10,000 credit line!
Just for some perspective, I am 20 yrs old and my scores are currently TU: 693 EX: 667
I have been an AU on my fiance's Amex TrueEarnings since account opening (6 months or so) with a $1200 limit. On my own, I have a Capital One Platinum MC with a $750 credit line and a Victoria's Secret store card with a $750 limit. We also own two cars that we are currently paying on.
Just wanted to share my surprising Amex experience! So excited to be a part of the Amex family.
Congrats on your approval
Amazing someone 20 yrs old can get approved for 10K from AMEX was unheard of when I was in my 20s, I remember when I finally got my first 10K CL, I was 34 yrs old and that was a few decades ago now too.... Grats to your success OP
congrats
