Just a cheap looking paper card. I almost never use it anymore. And they tend to be stingy with credit lines. If I had it to redo I would pass on this card. Little value in it.
Grats on the card A lot of the negatives are overblown, yes they can do it but it takes action on your part for it to happen (running up all cards, etc). The card is paper as it cant be used anywhere but online at Amazon. Just use all your cards responsibly and you will not have a problem....
congrats
I've had the Amazon Store card since April 2013 and I love it! My inital credit limit was $1,900, auto CLI 4 months later to $2,200, four months later I hit the Luv button, only a $300 increase. I called Credit Solutions and was able to double it to $5,000.
I've taken advantage of several 0%, 6 month promotions, but be aware if you have a 0% promo and say you make a $12 purchase, use a diffrent method of payment. Because, any payments you make, a portion will go to the promo amount first, then the non-promo purchase, whcih will cause you to incur interest on the $12.
Regarding the paper card, I was kind of surprised at first, but it really doesn't matter, because you can only use it online anyway.
I have heard that GE will CLD (credit limit decrease) accounts for non-use, but as long as you use it regulary, I think you'll be fine. So try not to let those other stories worry you, too much. In terms of their customer service, I've called a couple of times and received great customer service.
Use the card, enjoy it and let GE grow your credit limit, it'll be worth it.
Good luck!
.
Congrats on approval!
I got mine back in August and the CL has been stuck at $700 since then. I'm not sure I'd get the CC again. Yes, it's just a paper card, but since you'll never have to physically present it any place, I don't really find that problematic. I think it's good for special financing offers or if you need it as part of your overal UTIL strategy. Other than that, I don't really think it's worth it.
is it worth it?...
for me it is
Yes it's worth it for the 0% financing promo deals they offer... I've used it for a few large purchases. My initial limit was something like $400, then auto cli to 700. Then $1100...all in 4-5 months.
Congrats!
I'm a bit confused. I app'd for an Amazon card in March and was approved. It is backed by Chase. What am I missing here. It's for sure not paper and I can use it for whatever, whenever and wherever.
