American Express Blue Cash Everyday

Hi guys, this is my first post on the forums. I just wanna let everyone know that I just applied for the American Express BCE card & was instantly approved. I've read on other posts that it's a little hard to get in the door with AMEX, but it's worth it so I decided to take the chance. A little background on myslef: 

currently 19yo male

first student loan Jan 2014 (no credit history) 

first credit card Apr 2014 (Discover It for Students) $1k orginally $500

first FICO score from Discover came in July 

Macy's CC in Sept 2014

no missed/late payments 

always pay statement in full 

always pay balance down below 30% before statement closes (except once accidentally) 

The reason I went for the AMEX BCE is because I like cash back, & I wanted an intro APR. Also I wanted a real CC as opposed to my student CC. I applied thinking that I'll be denied or given the 7-10 days crap because I put my income as $15,000/yr & also because of my short credit history of less than a year. To my surprise I was approved instantly & it directed me to make an account which I did & it showed my CL which was $3,500! I'm quite happy, I always wanted an AMEX.

I just wanted to share my story in case anyone else is thinking about applying for this card & might have doubts.

*btw my first FICO from discover in July was 675 & on the last statement 10 days ago it was 702, I haven't paid to see my real scores yet.

That's awesome. Don't forget about the 61 day CLI, there is a great thread about it. I've always wanted an AmEx but I didn't get mine until a year ago (I'm 30). A few missed payments messed my credit all up. Keep paying your bills on time and be patient and great credit will be yours, before you know it!

I've kept a balance on my card the entire time but make multiple payments a month. My current balance is $1500 and I started with a $4500 limit, got $13500 @ 61 days and just asked and got a $20000 limit .

Good job! Go for the 3x CLI in two months. Even if you don't get it, you might get a good counteroffer.
