So, I've had my love/hate relationship with Amex. I got my PRG again in January after having a rough past with them. I had a PRG about 7 years ago and a corp card from work, both got closed, I ended up with Optima, finally got a PRG again, so now I'm back in good standing with them.
I've apped for a revolver with them technically 5x in the past 6 months:
1. BCE 4/1, declined, score was too low
2. BCE 5/14, declined, score still too low
3. JetBlue 5/27, automatically canceled because my last decline was <30 days before
4. Delta, 5/27, same day as #3 because I thought the cancelation was an error and I'm an idiot
5. Delta, 6/3, because I was told to re-app by a CSR who is also an idiot and I listened
So, it's now been >90 days since I've apped with them. I just got approved with Chase who pulled EX for a $9000 CL, my USAA FAKO is a 749, so I assume the real score has to be over 700 if Chase gave me $9k on an IHG card. Should I re-app or should I wait until more time has passed? When I tried calling to recon I got a lot of crap from the CSR due to my number of apps...not sure if I should bother apping again.
My util is <20%, AAoA 3.5 years, perfect repayment history on PRG and my cardmember since date is 2007. Income is over $100k. I'd really like an Amex revolver to help with my AAoA, which got killed when I consolidated my student loans.

I would wait 6 months from the last amex app, too many app requests in a short amount of time
+1 I wholehartedly agree. It really helps to spread the apps out more.

Just called and it was the fraud alert. I GOT APPROVED! It's only a $5500 starting CL but I'll do the 3x trick and be better in no time! I'M SO HAPPY! Yayyyyyyy!
CONGRATS on your AMEX approval!!! Your persistence really paid off!
Congrats!
