Amex BCE approval, thanks to DW

My wife has been busting her butt to fix our credit. We finally bought our first home about 2 weeks ago because of all her hard work. Now, I can't get her to stop applying for credit cards. She was recently approved for Amex and Chase, which was one of her goals. Since she has those cards now, her goal was to make my credit good enough for Amex. Well, she succeeded. She just applied for me and I was approved for BCE for $1k. Not much, but I can't ask for more with my credit. I still have 4 judgments from 2010, all paid. I also have 2 collections on my EQ, zero collections on TU, and I'm not sure about EX. Everything was paid as a condition for mortgage approval. She also applied for Total Rewards Visa for me. Approved $1500. (Honey, you can stop NOW)

Congrats, you are on your way to high scores. I would recommend good will letters to get your paid collections and judgement removed. GW letter will do no harm.

Congratulations on you and DW recent approvals.

I agree, the GW letters are worth a shot and will help when you ask for 3x CLI with Amex.

And....welcome to the Amex Family.

Wooo Hooo

Congrats

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Amex BCE approval, thanks to DW

Thanks everyone!

I just checked my EX - 3 paid and 1 unpaid judgment showing and 3 paid collections. 7 inqs, including Amex. And the only accounts I have are the ones in my signature. I also have a VS card (don't ask). My oldest card is Capital One, opened May 2012. My next card was Walmart, opened in April 2013.

The judgments are paid, the one is just not updated yet. I'm surprised that Amex approved me with that. I thought this card was harder to get than the Green.

And the GW letters - I bet my wife already has them in the mail...

Starting Score (4/16/12 lender pull): TU 564 | EX 504 | EQ 522
Current Score (7/24/13 lender pull): TU 677 | EX 627 | EQ 580; 4/6/14 - TU 720 | EX - 683 | EQ 649

Congrats on all the hard work your wife has done and for you getting the new cards. Welcome to the Amex family. I have to say it's the most awesome card I have ever owned in so many ways.
