Re: Anyone recently get an auto upgrade from Old Navy to Old Navy Visa?

At chan85 That's what I thought. I don't really want either of those to happen. I wouldn't really use my ON card outside of ON anyways. But I would like the offer....lol

Re: Anyone recently get an auto upgrade from Old Navy to Old Navy Visa?

My DW got that letter this week too.  She's had her ON card since April of 2012.

I got my own ON card in August of 2013, and no offers for me.  Smiley Sad

Re: Anyone recently get an auto upgrade from Old Navy to Old Navy Visa?

I got the upgrade offer on my AE card a couple of days ago.

I dont see any good reason to accept these upgrade offers if you have or could qualify for other cards that have rewards.

The AE and ON cards dont really offer any substantial rewards so why get a brand new account when you could just apply for a card that has rewards. I knwo there is no inquiry for the upgrade but thats not enough incentive to add a new tradline for a card with no rewards.

Re: Anyone recently get an auto upgrade from Old Navy to Old Navy Visa?

I believe I've had the card for over a year now and spent only 100-200 of my limit and would pay it all off.  I haven't bought anything in a while now but I got the offer kinda out of the blue.

Re: Anyone recently get an auto upgrade from Old Navy to Old Navy Visa?

I recieved the snail mail. I have noticed this offer in my messages when I log into my account that I qailified for the upgrade as well. I was able to get a CLI thru credit solutions a few days ago from $900 to $3k as I was really considering accepting the upgrade. However, reading more forums I have just called and declined because I too will be mortgage shopping soon and don't want any unnecessary events effecting that outcome. Great option for credit building tho!! Great for everyone who is accepting this upgrade!

Re: Anyone recently get an auto upgrade from Old Navy to Old Navy Visa?

If I were in all of the potential upgraders' shoes, I'd want to see what this card shows up like on a credit report.

Part of the FICO score evaluates a mix of different account types, and why give up a store card for a visa that's indistinguishable?

I'd be curious to see if there was someone who had been on both sides of the fence, to see how it looked on the report.  I know I'll be looking at my report to see how the GECRB/TJX looks versus the GECRB/Walmart-DC (Discover).  Once you've gotten major cards from other issuers, it likely doesn't make much sense to have the Old Navy Visa version, does it?

I was going to garden... Honest!

I received this offer online when I logged into my account. Not sure I really need it? I rarely shop at ON anymore but they are giving a $50 reward after you make 1 purchase outside of their brands. Can anyone tell me if its worth it?

Re: Anyone recently get an auto upgrade from Old Navy to Old Navy Visa?

I got the letter today.  I didn't realize it would be a new TL, I'm glad I looked at this thread as I was just going to let it happen.  That is so not okay to send a piece of paper that we may or may not receive/read and require us to make a phone call and if not, it would cause a new TL...   that is so not okay!  What happeded to the online upgrade accept button?  That's how it should be done.  I did just get a CLI about 2 weeks ago 1000 --> 1700 which was awesome but new TL?  No thank you!
