And congrats on the Chase and Discover....I like mine so far Envious of your limit on the Chase Amazon!
OMG! You're right! I ust checked and I am approved!!!! Getting an AMEX was nothing but a dream when I joined this forum four years ago! Unbelievable!
Congrats!!! If you call a CSR you can ask them what your limit is, too.
Still can't believe this just happened! Now, I've got a little dilemma. I have two Capital One cards, one of which I have had for 5 years and is my oldest account and another I opened two years ago. They both have $39 annual fees due next month. Should I PIF and close both? Pay the fee for the oldest account (to somewhat salvage my AAoA)? Or just get rid of them and move on? now that I have the cards I want, I don't really need them anymore. Thoughts?

They'll still report on your CRs for 10 years, even if you close them. If closing them increases your utilization, you'll see your scores drop somewhat. But IMO, if you really don't think you're going to use them anymore, then I'd say just close them.
Congrats!

Call C1 and be like "waive the fees or I'm closing 'em; Amex just approved me...etc"
I tried that when I got my first Amex. I was very nice the entire time, but I eventually told the girl that if she wasn't able to at the very least waive my AF, to go ahead and close my card right now. She responded back 10 seconds later stating that my card was now closed. I may have told her that Cap1 was subprime after that, but I was still fairly nice about it.
Since then (that was 5yrs ago), I've stupidly applied for two cards from them because of 0% no fee BT offers. They've denied me for both while evey other bank has given me the cards I want (Penfed took two tries). I think Cap1 just hates me now, but that's ok, because the feeling is mutual. I refuse to ever app with them again. It helps that they have nothing I want anymore.
