I have 2 USAA secured cards, one 1000k and Amex 500. Been open 1 yr. AAoA is 7.5. Can I close secured cards now?

Congrats!!!! I would rather talk to those secured cards and see if they release your deposit amount.......That would be great. If they don't, and if you have no use of it, then close it. But be careful if they are say 2-5 years old then it may drop your AAoA. So it is kind of balancing act.

why dont you just call to unsecure your card and get the deposit back? I know some banks will do it automatically and some dont, just call and ask for your options.

Which secured cards do you have? Some may unsecure on their own, at your request or not at all depending on the lender.
