I plan to leave the garden in April. My AAoA is 6 yrs9mos, current TU- 693, util less than 5%(soon to be less), oldest current account 10/2012 care credit, BoFA secured and Walmart 9/2013, comenity cards 10/2013. Three inquires, 10/12, two on 9/13. The bad, six defaulted school loans discharged 9/2011, $0, these also show as 6 closed/never late accounts under positive accounts. I've received an offer(repeatedly lol) from Discover for 0% for 15 months 10.99%APR. I've been dying to app with them, do I have a good chance even due to the school loans? Should I just apply for one card and plan on applying for another 1 or 2 cards when my BoFA unsecures in September? Will it matter if I wait until then for 2 other cards opposed to April? If I get some decent limits I'd really rather only add two new bank cards to hold me for the next year at least and garden. Any advice, or thoughts appreciated.
Discover would be good IMO. Let me get this straight you have 6 student loans and have 12 entries for them 6 bad, 6 good.... If this is the case I would dispute the bad set as they can only be one or the other not both or is there something I am missing here ?
From all the research I've done and talking to the ombudsmans office the original lender or maybe it's the guarantor is allowed to show the defaulted loan but then the discharged loan shows up positively with the dept of education. I honestly don't know if it's entirely correct for it to show up that way. Two of the accounts have a status of "account 120+ days past due, with a notation of "claim filed with government". I disputed those and AES actually added late payments. :-(

Ok, I am not a SL guru so I am going to back away from this one, sorry to hear it turned worse but that is the downside to a dispute. Good luck
id apply for discover now if you are getting offers.
what else are you thinking?

Likely Chase Freedom, maybe Barclay's? Stuff about capital one that others have posted has made me hesitant to app for them. I'd like to get a few cards that will grow over the next year to two years.
I think Barclay and Discover might be good idea and maybe wait for chase until unsecured BofA unless you have some great results with discover and barclay or you can get a pre-qual online... then jump on chase now.
