Paid off about 17k in outstanding credit card debt and loan balances the end of june. I'm down to about 5k now in just credit card debt

I now have no 401k, so I'll be retiring around....never. But at least I'm not paying 20+% in interest on that money anymore

Dont know anything about Simmons,never seen a post on here before about them. Sucks about the 401k but that had to really feel good paying off that much.
Smart thing to do IMO.

Make sure you report it cashed out or partial cashed out when you file taxes.. This is how I ended up getting um say a 10k audit from 5 years ago this year..  Took a bit of money out of an out 401k during move and didn't mention it on taxes oh they caught up to me and then some and tacked on all kinds of fees/fines/interest.
