Approved for Speedway Station Card but...

unable to use it here in MN. Here's what happened... I was pretty sure that both SuperAmericas in town were part of Speedway owned by Marathon, but when I go to use the card inside I'm informed that they're no longer part of Speedway as of a couple years ago or looks like sometime in 2010 Marathon sold all SuperAmericas in Minnesota and some in South Dakota and Wisconsin. Oh well lesson learned, but I'll probably wind up having to close this one fairly soon as I can't use in anywhere around here. I'll probably pass on gas cards for now until I find another fairly close with decent rewards.

Sounds like a good plan, credit. Maybe in like 6 months or so I'm thinking. No annual fee.

Right. If it has a visa/mastercard logo on it just sd it and spend a few dollars eevery few months.

Re: Approved for Speedway Station Card but...

just let it close itself store cards last a long time, and EVERY gas card is a bad deal no matter what.

6 cents off on a GALLON! OMG! at $3-4 a gallon your saving a lot!

If you get a card like Chase Ink for gas it's 2x points for gas per dollar spent

so that's 6-8 points a gallon. and each point is easily valued at over 2.5 cents (this is why Chase sells it for 3.5 cents) if you redeem it correctly. Otherwise just use it for cash back at penny a point.

One of the best gas cards is Costco Amex business 4% cash back on any gas station for 12-16 cents on a gallon at $3-4. And waived Costco annual fee with renew of costco membership, if your just looking for cash back. PenFED is good but I dislike cards with limited benefits.    No annual fee + 4% is good enough for me, but I get better deals with another card so I'll use that =) but that's another story
