Backdoor Numbers Success

Just an FYI I had applied for a Chase Freedom Credit card.  I was approved online this last Friday at $3500, they told me they pulled Equifax which for me according to score watch through myFICO is a 688.  I called today just for the fun of it to the backdoor number listed that i just heard about today.  They put in a request for a credit increase and I went from $3500 to $4300.  It was an additional hard pull which I was warned about several times but it was completely painless and easy to do.

Starting Score: 560 EQ / 670 TU
Current Score: 708 EQ / 666 TU / 647 EX
Goal Score: 700 All Around

Congrats!

Curious to know how your entire profolio read. I'm thinking about applying myself, so I have selfish reasoning. Smiley Happy Also, you say they pulled EQ. I've heard it differs state to state. If you don't mind, what state do you live in?

Re: Backdoor Numbers Success

when you ask about my portfolio what specific info are you looking for?  I live in Arizona.  I asked them what they pulled for me and they told me they can pull from all 3 but they chose EQ.

Re: Backdoor Numbers Success

Oh ok i got ya.  I have a $300 secured capital one card that i started building my credit with in 2011.  I have a $550 CreditOne bank card that i opened about 6 months after that.  Both of those currently have $0 balance on them.  I have a $1000 credit card through my bank Desert Schools Federal Credit Union.  that had about 500 on it when I applied for the Chase freedom card.  Because of the deal where i can balance transfer over at 0% and they have a 15 months 0% interest promo.   Im going to move that amount which is now at $900 over to the Chase card so then I will have a $0 balance on my other 3 cards and at $900/4300 my utilization for that card will be about 20% and with all cards combined my utilizatioin will only be about 14% for all of them combined.  dont plan on using them until i get that balance down to 0 which should only take a month or 2.

Re: Backdoor Numbers Success

They double pulled me, EX and EQ. But my credit profile wasn't ask good as it is now back in August 2013. 6 months to a year makes a huge difference!
