Yesterday, I logged into my Bank of America account to find that they had given me a $2,000 Auto-CLI on my Cash Rewards Visa raising my CL from $3,900 to $5,900! Knowing that my card was now eligible for "Visa Signature" status because of this new CLI, I decided to call in to see if they could officially upgrade the account and send me the new card. A nice rep did exactly that and processed my request, I thanked him and right before I was about to get off the phone, he stopped me and told me that he saw a special offer on my account!
He went on to tell me that I was a pre-approved for a Small Business Card and that he could transfer me over to an application specialist if I was interested. I agreed, and was sent over to a nice woman that told me about my offer and that I was eligible for a Small Business card OF MY CHOICE! I could choose the Cash Rewards card, Travel Rewards card, or the Alaska Airlines card. Given that I already have the Cash Rewards card, and plan to acquire the personal version of the Travel Rewards card down the road, I selected the Alaska Airlines card! With that card, she also told me that I would get an alternate sign-up bonus of 30,000 miles and a $50 statement credit after only $750 spend!
Given that Bank of America's decisions on Business credit cards are made through the overall banking relationship/history the individual has with them as opposed to the individual's personal credit profile, I decided to accept this offer and apply considering it would not pull my personal reports. (Still in the Garden folks!) The rep asked me basic questions about my personal income and business stats such as years in business, number of employees, yearly gross + net income. Keep in mind that I applied for this card as a Sole Proprietor so no EEIN/TAXID was required, and they just asked for my SSN. When the application was done and submitted, the rep gave me a reference number and told me that somebody would contact me within 3-5 business days regarding the decision of the application.
Fast foward to today, I decided to call the Business Credit Analyst number (800-601-3923) that I found on our wondeful Backdoor Numbers thread to see if a decision has been made. Sure enough, the rep asked me for my reference number and found that a decision had already been made and that I got approved for $3,500! Should receive the card in 7-10 days, can't be happier!
Let me know what you guys think and if you've ever had a similar offer come your way, I've personally never heard of this being offered to anyone else before.
