CC Approval, Apply for more?

I have a 628 score, short history but nothing bad at all, recently got approved for American Express Classic and have applied for  ToysRUs but no outcome yet, I do not want to apply for many more, I would hate to have many enquiries so can anyone recommend a car to apply for now? I was thinking a Childrens Place or Target? Do not see the point in something I would rarely to never use.

Thank you!

IMHO I would not apply for anything else until my scores went up

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: CC Approval, Apply for more?

How long is your history? IMO, don't appl for anything until you hit the 6-12 month mark, because the first 6 months are very crucial in building your credit. Take it slow and steady and you will be approved for any card as long as your Utilization is low, small amount of inquires (anywhere from 3-5 is okay, espcially your first 2 years, people start getting in trouble when it goes up to 7+ on any bureau.) and you have no late payments or chargeoffs, or file bankruptcy. Slow and steady always wins the race, Good luck!

Re: CC Approval, Apply for more?

Welcome to the forums! Do you have any revolving credit at all? Congrats on the green approval, but it doesn't count as revolving credit. Have you considered a secured card?

Re: CC Approval, Apply for more?

Righton, If I may ask, are you a student? what does your income look like? Do you travel, or want Cashback? is there any speific lender whose cards you want? that plays role in whatever you going to apply for.

Re: CC Approval, Apply for more?

What is a green approval and why wouldn't it be revolving credit? I'm new to this.

Re: CC Approval, Apply for more?

Do you mind If I may ask how many inquires you have on all bureaus. The reason I ask is because I think you could try potentially for another Amex in 6 months or so, because a 628 is not good...lol. If you have a lot, that could explain your score, and your chances of getting approved for additional cards.
