CSP approved-will they cli?

Your new account has an initial credit line of   $8000. If this does not meet your needs, please discuss available credit line options with our Customer Service Specialist when you call to confirm receipt.

I have a 5k Freedom, which I use 3-7k/month and auto-pif.  It has mostly been my go to card.  I would like a limit high enough where this doesnt drop my score 25 points if I dont pay before the statement cuts.  I have read that Chase gives their best offer up front, and I do have 13k total from them.  Income is 165, I have chase checking, and have had the freedom just less than a year.

Do I have a shot at a backdoor cli?  If so, should I wait until I receive the card like they said, or call right away Monday?

Re: CSP approved-will they cli?

When you call to confirm receipt they will ask you if you need a higher limit, you got more than enough income, explain the situation,  I would probably ask for ~15k

Re: CSP approved-will they cli?

When my dad was approved instantly we were told that if you requested a higher credit line it would be an additional hard pull since the system approved it and the analyst didn't have access to the app.  I was told this twice but as always ymmv, I would at least try and see if they will do it without a HP.

Re: CSP approved-will they cli?

I called the number on the back of the card and she only wanted to talk to me about the Freedom and asked permission for a hard pull.  No thanks, Ill wait until Monday and call the IL number on the backdoor thread.

That would be perfect.  I am worried about waiting too long to call and having them ask for another hard.

My partner got $9k instant and never got a message about calling if needing more and I asked here and was told the same as above, instant approvals are 1 pull and if you call for instant CLI it will be a 2nd HP but on TU.  I think 2ish weeks went by when he happen to have a full credit report from TU and to my surprise and dissapointment he had a HP from Chase - So 1. He was instant Approved but took 2 HP already.  2. Now it was to long passed so they would have done a 3rd HP...

If you can verify they have only done 1, you would have to take a second almost for sure to request more... but if this is your go to and you will have to take a HP at 6 months if you want it up high if they don't do it auto... I would take the hit now and go for it since it's your go to and you don't need to apply for other cards... well really I would just do it but...

and yes as other poster said if you take the 2nd HP i would ask for $20 - they can counter... I mean you are on the phone with the analyst, so you both can talk it out. maybe say $15 but $25 would be best! maybe they meet halfway!  it's like Capital One and exec.... "I see you asked for $25k, would you consider any less if they $25k can't be done? yes.  Then a day later you get your answer! haha

Re: CSP approved-will they cli?

Thanks everyone for the insight.  I only have a couple HP out there, but I want to keep it that way.  I dont plan on house or car shopping for a couple years, but you never know.

Im hoping they will adjust or Ill just have to go without the increase.

The Freedom has been my go to and I like Chase.  Just hate seeing the point swings when I let it auto pay after statement.  4k reporting right now(80%) even though Ive paid 6k off since statement cut and have an $8 balance.

I was going to just cli the Freedom, but thought I would get more room getting a new CSP for the same hp.

Re: CSP approved-will they cli?

CSP has a dedicated service line - you can only access it as a CSP member and they answer right away with an American based consultant. They could help you with the CLI, they're super nice. If the number isn't floating around somewhere PM me and I can give it to you.
