Aloha, thinking of app'n for one card in 2014(prolly this month) then hit garden till 2015.
The two cards I'm considering are the two listed above. Done some homework on them so I'm somewhat informed on the rewards they offer etc...etc....etc... Sorta leaning towards the marriot, as I stay at courtyards 20+ nights a year. But I'm open ta someone changing my mind on this.
My signature below is accurate of my current limits and cards I currently have. Some other info you will need. AAoA is 1.9 yrs. No lates what so ever, no public records, zero negatives on any credit bureau. She spotless. UTI is 11% with 2% coming off on the 8th. My fico as of oct 31st was 689 and that was with almost 35% UTI. So I'm thinking hi 690's today, maybe 700.
Biggest questions is.......which one would be the easiest to obtain and make it a siggy.
thanks to all.

I think the CSP is a better all around card in general. You would need to get a min 5k limit to get it though. Not sure if there is a min limit on the marriot card. Co-branded cards like the marriott are easier to obtain and tend to get higher initial credit lines. However, the rewards can only be used at marriott. With the csp you can transfer your points to marriott (not really the best exchange rate) or any number of other chase travel partners. Make sure to wait until your util drops down the 2% before applying. How many inqs do you have in the past six months, when did you get each of your cards? If you just want to use your rewards to get marriot stays then get the marriott card, if you want to be able to use your rewards in a variety of programs the CSP is better, but the marriott is def an easier approval.
I have 3 inq in 2013. Two for CLI(April/may). And Amex inq in aug. I have a total of 6 on my CR
I think you have a decent shot at the CSP and if I had to guess you have a even stronger shot at the marriott card.
The Marriott can be issued as a non-sig $2k min.
CSP is a great card, I don't have one so I can't vouch for it but I can vouch for the Marriott Visa card. I did the 50,000 signup bonus, three weeks later and the 70,000 bonus came out, I called customer service and they gave me the extra 20,000 with no questions! I stay only at marriotts and just used 60,000 points for a free one week stay at springhill suites in Denver, also gets you discounts at hertz (nothing BIG but its nice) and a free night every year! I think the minimum limit they give out is $5,000 but looking at your numbers and credit score you'll have no trouble! I had a 701 with 9 inqs and a 2.1 AAoa .
GOOD LUCK!
Thanks, I'll pull trigger after these payments post next week and relay the results.
Aloha, well since I have zero patience, I pulled the triggering Friday, got chase typical 30 day notice.......called in was transfered to the fraud operations dept. "we are closed for the weekend" ugggggghhhhh.
So fast forward to today. Called in spoke with a lady asked me the general security questions DoB, recent charges, etc...etc... Put me on hold for what 2-3 mins. Came back with some more questions, put me on hold again. After another 2 min hold(nerves are shot at this point). She came back with the news..............
Approved for $6500 metal card will be here 5-7 days. Whew.
My first signature card. Thats a good start to 2014.
I think the UW standards are about the same for both seeing as I was approved for both weeks apart with identical limits. CSP is a way more lucrative card overall but the Marriott Premier has an awesome 70k sign-up bonus right now and has been handing out some serious CL's to people who have other Chase cards already. How long have you had your Freedom for? If there is a chance that you would like to have both cards in the future I think u should app Marriott first IMO.
