So, I've had some success the past 2 months or so paying off some older bills & sending GW letters. I decided it's time to "garden" for a few months and not apply for anything else till later this year.
Well, I got "itchy fingers" yesterday and tried to apply for a Capital One Quicksilver card. Unfortunately, I got the "7-10 day" message.
I'm wondering if I might just go ahead and set myself up for a denial letter in the mail in a few days or is there a possibility they might still approve me? I've currently got a Cap One secured card with $1000 limit (started out at $500 and raised it to $1000 about a month ago) along with another $1000 secured credit card with my credit union and a few store cards (these are all very new though). My score with Transunion is 662 and with Equifax & Experian each are around 620. If I get declined, is there a chance they might reconsider if I call the recon number?

The message means they are reviewing the app, if they were going to deny it would have come back as denied. Call them on Monday and see if they need anything from you. A recon for denial would need to go to the EO. Good luck

Ok, i called this am & they said they needed to comfirm my home address (I gave my mailing address which is a po box during the application). She took that information & said I should know something in about a week. Had anyone ever got that question before? Maybe that's a good sign? Seems to me if they were going to decline it they wouldn't need two addresses for that.
I already have a secured card with them so I thought it was kind of an odd question, but I'm glad it wasn't a flat-out not. I'm crossing my fingers!
Well, I never got an official notification but a little while ago I got an email from Capital One saying that my card had just shipped! Since I wasn't sure whether or not I actually got it I called & sure enough...I got approved! It's a pretty small cl ($500) but other than secured cards & store cards (gotten with the "shopping cart trick"), this is my first "real" card in years. I'm so excited...I feel like I've finally (finally!) made some official progress!
