Re: Capital One credit limit increases

Congratulations OP

I must say that Capital One has been acting a little out of character of late. I've seen quite a handful of posts on this forum of individuals getting CLIs or PCs on request from Capital One. Maybe, just maybe......

Re: Capital One credit limit increases

Hi,

I just want to add to the fact that I got a $1,000 just recently as well (Sep 14 to be exact.). I've paid my cc bill on time and more than twice a month. I also noticed I had a "document" to review and turns out it was an electronic letter stating that becuase they liked me, they were giving me a $1,000 CL increase. So, yes, I thought it was a joke, the steps program stated $500 CL inc. but no, I got $1,000.

For the record, I have 630 score and was approved for a $500 limit. Also I have OrchardBank with a lousy $300. (I hope they do it with O.B as well, same company after all)

Re: Capital One credit limit increases

I was given a 300 dollar credit limit when I applied, and after 6 months they gave me a 2000 CLI to 2300.

Re: Capital One credit limit increases

I started with a $2000 limit on the Cash Rewards card back in July and it was increased to $2500 in Feb. I have earned $140 cash back on that card so far. I was also approved for the BB store card (backed by Cap1...soon to be Citi) with $2500 CL and no AF. I have an Orchard Bank card siting at $1100 since 2011. I use my Cap1 Cash Rewards and Chase Freedom card for 90% of my monthly expenses. My Orchard Bank card is in the process of being SD.

Re: Capital One credit limit increases

Same experience. Applied and was approved for 1st CapOne credit steps card about 6 months ago (no rewards, insane 24.99% APR!). $300 CL, with promised CLI to $500 after 5 months of on time payments. Used a few times, always paid more than minimum each month, sometimes $200 sometimes only $50. But had $0 balance at 6th statement and was given a $1000 CLI to $1300.

Awesome surprise, but my 2nd CapOne card is still my goto card ($500 CL, no rewards, $39 annual fee, no interest ever). This is a credit steps card too, due for "pre-approved" cli to $750 next month...

My only other card:: a n00b Visa from my credit union. 9.2% apr and $750 CL. Only been open 12 months.

Still feel like I getting screwed somehow lol...
American Express Blue Cash Everyday $3000 | Discover It $5500 | Chase Freedom Visa $3500 | Chase Amazon.com Rewards Visa $5000 | Citi Simplicity Visa $9400 | Citi Diamond Preferred Visa $2900 | Barclaycard Arrival Mastercard $3000 | Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard $2100 | Gap Visa $4000 | Amazon.com Store Card $3700 | Vermont Federal Credit Union Visa Platinum $750 (starter card lol)

I have been reading this board for a while now. Figure I could share something. About seven months ago I applied for and received Capital One's cash rewards card. I was given a 300 dollar credit limit and put on the credit steps program. As long as I paid on time and didn't exceed my credit limit and on my seventh statement I would receive a 200 dollar CLI.

I use that cc for my everyday cc because I have 0% interest and 5% cash back. So I was expecting a bump of 200 dollars to show my next statement (October would be month seven.) I'm up late working and I get what I thought was the standard email that I thought was my statement now being ready to view. I log into my account to see I was given a 1,000 CLI to 1,300 total. The email was to let me know I had a document which was a notice from Capital One stating the above.

I really have no answer as to why the large increase on my first "step." I'm not complaining though, I earned it. I use it all the time and paid several times a month on it because of high use (why not, 5% cash back is OK with me.) I will say I don't know if I ever once paid in full. I always carried a small balance. So, there is some fresh data on Credit One steps program. They also gave me the 39 dollars back (credit to my account) that Orchard charged me when I opened my account with them.

Congrats on your CLI Smiley Happy

******* OLD THREAD ALERT *********

"If there's a lack of money in your life, understand that feeling worried, envious, jealous, disappointed, discouraged, doubtful or fearful about money can never bring more money to you, because those feelings come from a lack of gratitude for the money you have."

"Reactions are powerful creators because they contain every element needed to manifest—they're a combination of thought, belief, and feeling in action.
