Long story short, I applied for a Chase United MileagePlus Club card with the thought that I'd never get approved. I received the denial letter in the mail and decided to call the recon line and plead my case. Since I fly 30-40 times a year, I could use the United Club access among other things. I called the Chase recon line and the very courteous analyst brought up my app and previous history with Chase. She said that while I have a great history since my BK7 in 2006, she couldn't override the fact that I had some Chase balances that were included in the BK7, but that she'd recommend me for approval on the card to her higher ups. I logged in to my Chase account and I have a new MileagePlus Club card account showing up there!
So I guess the moral of the story is if you're initially declined, plead your case and provide evidence and you'll at least have a fighting chance! And Chase's blacklist is "flexible"!
Received the card and it's nice and heavy...looks like Chase has another "metal" card in its portfolio! I'm excited! Very thankful to Chase for the second chance! I will not disappoint!
Congrats! Great story and the moral is always recon. You've already got an HP so what can you lose?
Congratulations on the approval, that's really great to hear that you were able to recon, seems like they honestly listened to your request and went ahead and approved you.
If I am every in this situation I definitely won't hesitate to recon, and hope for a similar success ha.
Congrats!!!
Congrats on having one of the most sought after cards. Enjoy and happy flying!
Congrats!
Thanks everybody! I'm excited to start using it as well as have access to the United Club whenever I head out of town! Even better news is the AF is waived the first year...It's $395.
Thats an excellent story, congrats on your approval. It always feel good to have a second chance. Recon,Recon,Recon, it works.
Great job!!!!! Way to keep fighting! Congrats.
