so got my Chase BA visa approved but less than $5k limit therefore making it non-signature.   i didn't even see this as a product so this was surprising.  i would have thought that if they weren't interested in advancing another $5k TL they would have just denied me.

weird but i will take it.  avios are a good currency to build.

anyone else heard of this?

Btw, this was on a recon.   When the card arrives, what would my chances be on reconing this to bump me to a $5k limit so that i could get the siggy version?  (without HP, ideally)

I understand the CL is less than 5,000, but you might call Chase anyway and just ask if its a Signature or not.  They will sometimes issue Signature cards for less than 5,000.  Good luck on the recon if its not.

I called chase and the card is not a signature and I would have to proactively PC to a siggy once my limit is 5k

Not being a siggy makes the AF a bit expensive. But I really like avios now that I've seen how useful they are for booking AA flights. And 1.25 avios per $ spend can be useful for non category spend

Sorry to hear.  Don't you have other Chase cards with $5k limits?  You can call and see if you can allocate some of the limit on your other Chase cards to BA card to make your BA card Visa Sig eligible.
