After being denied this morning for Amex PRG because of what the CSR said was too high of internal FICO score 719 (still laughing and crying about this at the same time) I decided to try my luck with the CSP. Instantly approved for 5k. Apparently Chase likes me. My scores as of yesterday from creditchecktotal.com were EX 690 TU 702 EQ 697. Oldest account 18 months. AAoA 6 months. 9 inquiries on EX. Utilization 9%. No baddies. No late payments. The only other cards I have are Kohl's 300 CL. Chase Freedom Unlimited 1,000 CL. And Cap One Quicksilver One 500 CL. I've read before that Chase usually likes to see at least one other card with 5,000 CL before accepting for the CSP. I'm very excited about this and I hope my data points help others that are thinking about applying for the CSP.
Congratulations!
I remember getting my first $5K card, I was also very excited- t was (the Chase) Marriott card, once you can show that you can handle that without issue, you could then go for the AMEX BCE or an AMEX related card and you should get equal or better than $5K. AMEX likes to see how one handles a larger credit line.
After that I also ended up getting a $40K car loan with Chase 6 months later at 5%...
Just take it easy, I was where you are about a year ago, and my scores were in mid 600's.
