I log onto Chase website today to check my balance on my checking account  (opened 2010).  To my shock I see another account.  Chase freedom $2500 limit.  I was so surpised, I thought if I got approved I would get some low limit like $500.  My longest credit card was Cap1 which hasn't even reported 6th statement yet.  They pulled EQ and EX.  EQ score was 703 no baddies, EX 1 baddie from 08.  Thanks everyone for all your help on here feels good.

I have one now but not going to try them until sometime next year (in the garden). I got denied and tried to recon but the CSR wasnt pleasant at all (to my surprise). It seemed like she was having a bad day...she pointed out about a recent chargeoff in 2011 (but she didnt realize that the chargoff was from 2007 but was paid in 2011). She asked me why it was paid till 2011, and told me she couldnt approve it because of that reason...oh well.

I had a recently paid collection on EX too  when approved.  I think it depends a lot on the rep you get.  Good luck next year.  I think you will be fine.
