On Thursday of last week i applied for the Citi Hilton visa signature card. The response was we are unable to approve at this time you will receive a letter in 7-10 days.

I checked my email yesterday and i got an mesasge stating I was approved for the card with a credit limit of 4200.

so i guess the intial response wasn't a denial but a "let me think about it"?

Yep. Same thing happened to me when I was approved for my Citi Thank You Prefferred Signature, congratulations on your new card!
