After reading so much about DCU here in the community, I decided to apply for membership.
After a few emails and back and forth verification of my ID, I was accepted at the end of April, the accounts (checking and savings) were funded without issue from my current checking account.
I am in the process of getting my direct deposit transfered to DCU (sorry Chase), as a way to establish a good relationship with them (and be able to get my free monthly FICO score)
Over this past weeked, I pulled the trigger on their VISA Credit card, and I was APPROVED for a $3K TL (not a lot, but higher than my Capital One $1K.)
Even with a public record on my file.
I will be recommending DCU to my extended family, co-workers and friends. I see a growing trend with CU's being out, for some of us who mismanaged credit in the past, but have realized that you can turn things around for good. Prime Banks still have some of my attention, specially Discover, Chase and Amex, but my current scores are not there yet.
Once again, I feel so grateful with myfico community and its members, as I started re-building and re-educating on credit management last December'12.
I am not so active on posting, but I read every day (while commutting, at work, after work, before going to sleep LOL
Thanks again !
Congrats.. I agree thanks to Myfico I am also a Member and my CC highest CL is with them.
Now that you have a DCU CC, you don't need DD to get your free FICO, however, I've heard great things about their DD and getting your money early.
Congrats either way!
Congrats!! You'll enjoy the 2 day early DD with them as well.

Yea, the first time it happened I couldn't believe it, but it still holds true to this day
That's a nice perk, a 2 day early paycheck ! I will be looking forward to my new card as well !
How does DCU feel about INQ & UT, just for checking/savings acct membership? (not apping for their card yet)
