I was approved for a $1,500 SP CLI with Discover. This has brought the CL from $5,000 to $6,500. I was slightly worried when I asked for a CLI, because I got a 2-3 message (I believe that's the message I got). I thought it had been over 3 MOS, but after I got the message I realized that it had only been 2.5 MOS. Then a few days later I received an email stating that I was granted the CLI.
I also have had a Capital One Quicksilver One for quite some time. This was originally upgraded from the Capital One Platinum a while back. When I upgraded, the representative could only upgrade me to the Quicksilver One. I was told I could upgrade after 6 MOS. 6 MOS later I was still unable to upgrade. One year after I upgraded, I received an AF. I called to have it refunded and was transferred to the EO. I asked her to upgrade the Quicksilver One or I would close the it (AFs are against my religion). She gave me a lifetime AF waiver and told me that I currently can't upgrade. I later found out here on myFICO, that the threshold to upgrade from the Quicksilver One to the Quicksilver is a $3,000 CL. I passed this threshold back in the fall of 2015 and asked, still unable to upgrade. After submitting the Discover CLI, I decided to ask Capital One via chat for a Quicksilver One upgrade. The chat took longer than expected, but I was upgraded to the Quicksilver.
I know that I had a lifetime waiver on the Quicksilver One, but program rules change overtime as we often see. I was worried that if I ever were to be grandfathered into a product, then I may never be able to get into a non-AF product. So, I'm extremely satisfied that I was able to get this.
