After a decade of waiting to apply for a discover card... I was approved yesterday
Discover IT card - 6k credit limit - 14 months 0% rate - Pulled EQ 646
I read that they usually pull EX but that was a lie, it was an EQ pull. Now, back to the garden
Congrats!

Congrats! Not sure where you heard they were an EX puller, but they are primarily an EQ puller for new accounts, and TU for your credit scorecard. Sometimes they pull EX if your EQ isn't strong enough, so they can see if you have any baddies that might be hiding.

What you read was not a lie. They just so happened to pull EQ in your case.
Discover pulled EQ for my secured card. I'm on east coast.
Is that your FICO 08 score from then, or the score they gave you as part of your application? (The Discover provided score with my app was 67 points lower than my EQ 08 pulled a few days later, after the card appeared on my report.)
Hello,
It was my Fico 08 score.
