Finally got "unsecured"!

I've gotten added/authorized to my dad's Amex account and getting my first Amex in a week.

I thought I'd go credit card shopping since I'll have a ding in my score for that Amex, and I've been with two secured cards for over a year and never applied for more or requested a CLI..

I've just applied for Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Master Card and I got APPROVED through their website!

I've also got accepted -sort of- for a "Discover it" card but they're asking for a co-signer (will be done)..

Within the past 24 hours, I got an Amex, Unsecured Cap1 Quicksilver, and a Discover-it Smiley Very Happy

That's it for 2015 I guess!

Re: Finally got "unsecured"!

Thanks a lot!

It really does feel great experiencing all of this after having a 528 score in 2010..

Became an Amex MSD 2015 (Last night)

The Amex has 5k limit (I only plan to "show some activity" every month until I build history with them then get my own)

Graduated to Unsecured (Tonight)

The CapitalOne card came with $500 limit (my secured Cap1 which I've had for over a year is only $528)

I want this for the free fico score (Tomorrow?)

The Discover's status is unknown yet, seems like their system/website only approved me to be in a joint account with someone else. I'll get them the joint applicant they requested, just to get the free fico score.

While I won't be applying for more credit through 2015, I will enjoy getting offers in my mailbox from other CCC's Smiley Very Happy

Two years ago, getting credit back up was a wish, getting unsecured was "too far to be seen", becoming an Amex member was a DREAM.

I feel like I owe everyone here a BIG THANK YOU for sharing the knowledge and support.. I feel like I could do anything in the world!

Re: Finally got "unsecured"!

Why was your score so low before? Baddies?

Also ''you took a whole year'' while I have heard others on here getting prime cards in 6 months.

Anyways, I respect your attitude on WAITING to get the cards you want.

You deserve more now. All the best for 2015.
