So I have a plain ole vanilla Walmart Card and want to convert to the Discover Walmart.. I already have Discover IT.. Does anyone know how to convert? Would it still be issued and managed by GE? Thanks..
You can't convert it unless they offer you an upgrade. Other than that you'd have to reapply to see if you qualify and yes it is still under GE.

Okay, great, thank you...
It will still be backed by GE. It has nothing to do with discover other than it runs on their network. You can reapply but you run the risk of having two regular walmart cards. Just continue to give it lots of usage and PIF. Also keep the rest of your report in good shape with low utilization. Also make sure your getting your four month CLI's while you wait. Good luck.

Lol :-) Im just saying bc GECRB will not budge on these upgrades.
They rely on the computers to make the decision!
Ime: after 26 months (nov 2012) I rec'd the invite to upgrade :-) I never ever ever was late or OTL or defaulted in any way. My tu fico was 670'ish.
I started with an $800 store version and now have a $15,000 Discover version :-)
Just stay on the right track! And please don't waste a hp re-applying for the Discover version lol I did, and I regret it. :-/
yeah.. I had the Walmart card since 2008....got the invitation to apply in Feb 2013!! upgraded and doubled my limit from 1.7k to 4k...
just a general question....Do they ever offer the upgrade to the Discover when requesting a CLI? or it's only at the time the Computers scan your account specifically for the upgrade?
