Please give us the details on how you went from 500 to 10,000?

I accepted their $500 credit limit they originally approved.

Once the card was in hand, I called Credit Solutions (see sticky) and asked for more. The underwriter asked how much, and I jokingly said my other Discover had a $9200 limit (which it did) and it would be great if the WalMart Discover had a similar limit, so roughly $10k.

The underwriter put me on hold, came back a few minutes later, and it was approved.

Once your foot is in the door, Credit Solutions is your friend.  In a similar fashion, after receiving an initial CL of $500, I called twice on a Toys R Us card...  once I thought $3k was enough for it, and then when my wife started talking about all of the purchases she had in mind, I called back and requested the $6k. Got $6k through Credit Solutions even before the first statement.

On my last attempt at GECRB, I got $3k out of the gate on the EBay MC, so I left that one alone.

I was going to garden... Honest!

Re: GE MONEY BANK

It probably sounds like Im complaining but I have worked really hard to get to the point where I am so I felt that a higher limit would mitigate the hit my AAoA will take.

Is Credit Solutions their underwriting arm?

Re: GE MONEY BANK

Approvals are a good thing.  Congrats!

They always pull TU, AFAIK.  I was ~620 when approved with $300 CL back in August.  Just got CLI to $700 this month by LUV button.  Never had luck with Credit Solutions.

That being said, Credit Solutions is SP, so there's no harm in trying them if you don't like your initial CL.
