Re: GECRB - Approved !

My initial CL is 800 and I tried to recon to 2000, but they won't budge. All 3 CRs spotless with no baddies whatsoever and my scores ain't too bad either. Smiley Sad

Re: GECRB - Approved !

I have a gut feeling GE tries to stick with 3X CLI max. I may be wrong though but I think 3X is always a good place to start!

BK in 2008, after making very stupid financial. decisions.

Yea I wont request more than 3x in fear of them declining it with no counteroffer.

Re: GECRB - Approved !

of course it's always YMMV with the CLI numbers, but I was able to get 10x CLI in just over 3 months.

Of course I did PIF for a couple months and made sure my total util was at 1.5% when I asked. The only baddie still reporting is a BK from 8 years ago.

1-877-379-8173 is the magic number.

yeah, they won't grow that fast....especially with a initial CL of $150. I would try for $450 and thats a good 3xCLI then double that, etc. Most likely the OP will have to wait until the 4th statement and then ask for 3x at the most.

I would be a bit more daring especially since they do counter offer. My WalMart Discover was opened with an $800 cl, but I requested $8000 3 months later and was approved. They can be quite generous.

you said you had an initial limit of $1k then called and recon'd to $2k the same day....so you're saying they increased you to $20k after 3mths. I have a hard time believing that, but cool for you.

getting a CLI for 3x is a big deal....do that a few times and it starts to add up. You can always ask for more and hope they counter but what if they don't counter and then get nothing. Many members have plenty of success of requesting 3x and getting it granted. Ofcourse, YMMV, and nothing is a sure thing.

My initial line was 1k, but I was wrong about the timing. Just went back and checked and my limit was increased to 4k after 3.5 months and 10k right at 4 months from my application date, but before the statement cycled.

Well initial line was 1k opened on 10/17/12. Called same day and got a cli to 2k

Auto cli to 2.5k first week of Feb. Called same day and got a cli to 4k

Called last week and got an increase to 10k which is 10x my initial line.

Like I said though YMMV.
