Home Depot CLI

I'm a bit surprised they approved my CLI request. I got approved for the card around May of last year for a initial limit of $700. I called in on the same day and got it bumped up to $1,200. I didnt want to be too greedy, I just wanted enough to cover my purchase at the time. Back in March of this year...I requested for a CLI to I believe $2,500, and was approved (instantly IIRC) to $2,750. Last night, I wanted to ask for another CLI. I wanted to see how far I can push to get a higher CL. I also wanted at least a $5,000 CL...but figured what the heck let's try for $7,500. Who knows right? Early this morning I logged on and saw my new CL of....$8,250!!

All I can say is WOW. They once again approved me for what I asked for and gave me a bit more. Which makes me of course wonder if I should have asked for more. But I think im going to be satisfied with my new CL for a long time. Its more than I would ever need, and especially from a store card. But its of course always nice to have a nice hefty cushion in CL if you ever need it. I made a decision to move from a Lowe's card to the Home Depot card last year. I had the Lowe's card for 2 years, and all I can ever get was a $800 CL. I decided to close that card and go over to HD since I see the potential to get higher limit. I also now live just 4 minutes away from a Home Depot store. Glad I made the change and it looks like a made a great decision to switch. Smiley Happy

EDIT: Forgot to add that it did cost me a HP on my EQ CR. Score was 672 as reported on my EQ SW this morning. I had 4 INQs reporting at the time.

Congrats

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Home Depot CLI

I had a pre-approval for Home Depot last week - 18 months 0% if i spend $499, So kinda like a credit card (with no $499 minimum spend requirement!) lol
