Langley FCU VISA

I became a member of Langley FCU a couple weeks ago so I thought I would app for their personal loan. I called and spoke to one of their nice CSR's. She asked normal inquiries and then asked what my FICO score was. I told her ~ 730. She said the rate on the personal loan would be 9.99% and the credit card would be 7.75%. I asked if I could app for both.

Langley has a max unsecured credit of $40k. I have a $2k PLOC so I asked her to app for $20k for the CC and $18k for the loan. She submitted and said someone from funding would call if approved. She also indicated that I can transfer $$ from the CC to my checking account with NO FEES at the 7.75% rate!! I was very happy to hear that and was surprised as well.

Less than an hour later they called and countered with $5k for the CC @ 7.75%. I accepted and asked about the loan. She didn't see it so I will call back Monday.

Congrats on your approval.  This credit union left a bad taste in some member's mouth a couple years a go, me included.

I never got to the point of getting approved.  I applied for membership during the gold rush.  They approved membership and then I applied for card. They then changed the rule that in essence said you have to live in their operating area so they closed membership and denied card. They refused to delete inq's as well.

Wow! Sorry to hear.

I got a call from their membership dept and the guy literally asked me why I wanted to become a member?? I told him I had heard they had very competitive rates on their credit products. I then got approved....

Do you live in their operating area?  I doubt apply with them again as I think it was my profile that scared then.   I have way more available credit than I had back then
