He finally listened. He won't get the CSR or the CSP. But I'll be Hoover National Dam'd, he applied for the 100k + 1free night AmEx Hilton Surpass and was approved!
APR unk. His EX is 707. UTL 40% overall. SL 2800. INQs 2 over 12 months.
ALSO, talked him out of closing his 1996 AmEx, which was a Blue, now EDP. Had him PC to ED.
...I shall wait for his referral link.
Congratulations on your AMEX approval!
Congrats to this unknown "HE!" I bet "HE" is excited Gotta love amex!
My DBF is "he"
He's under 5/24. Waaaay under. He's been slowly warming up. Finally believes me that UTL matters. He was 80% overall. He couldn't understand why his scores were lower than mine. WELL. That's sorted now.
When the CSR came out, and he was diligently slashing his UTL, I told him about it. He applied for the Chase Amazon Visa.
Regardless, his stable is now, 1996 Amex ED, Amex Hilton Surpass, Chase Amazon, GAP, JCrew, Best Buy. Last app's since 2004 are Chase Amazon and Amex Hilton Surpass.
He still uses his Debit card for most purchases, often. Baby steps.
His best friend however recently told me he relayed my speech to his wife. His wife not only keeps an Excel Spreadsheet now, but also drove across state lines to get the CSR. His and Hers. I'm so proud. She was an extreme couponer.
