@MissMoni223 wrote:So, I've had my Macy's card since June 2013 with a starting limit of $100. Got an auto CLI 2 months later to $300, and it stayed here ever since. Well I requested a CLI on 4/18 via the online request form and I got a message just a few moments ago that I was APPROVED for a CLI of $500! This brings my CL to $800, which is better than where I started. Is the general rule of thumb with Macy's to request a CLI every 3 months? This was the 1st time I requested a CLI since I've had the card.
Congrats on your CLI
Rules of the road w/ DSNB (Macy's)
1. I did a request over the phone and it was a SP as 99.9% of them are unless they detect something on your CR to push them to a HP
2. The credit analyst I spoke with mentioned you can call in every 6 months for a CLI
3. If you get over 700 you can apply to add the AMEX version to your account which is significantly higher CL than the store line
e.g.
Opened 1200/store and 5000/amex
CLI this month 1400/store and 10000/amex is what I ended up with after a 5 min phone call (or chat / e-mail form)
I applied for my Macy's January 31,2014.( online) and was approved for $400. 15 minutes later I call and asked why such a low limit. The csr said, let me activate your card & see whT I can increase it to. $200 more . So total of $600 limit To begin .april 4,2014 I decided to call to try for another inCrease. I said to the CSR " yes I was told to call back in April for a CLi " she pulls up my account and 8 seconds later she says " okay I set it for $2,000 " I was so shocked I said " excuse me " lol she repeated herself. I said okay thank you. No hard pull at all... $1,400 increase and only had the card for 2 months. I'm currently working on Kohl's for a CLi
these are all great stories, with great results. It definitely adjusts my confidence about their CLI. I will need to call them. when i request a CLI online, it states that they will be pulling my report possibly. Does no one else get this? Last time i called for CLI, they did do a HP, and this forum helped me with the tools to call them and have them take the HP off my record, it took talking for 5 different people to have this done though and was a crazy hassle.
FCRA rules say they have to disclose they "might" pull your CR for review on a CLI request.
It's not 100% they won't HP but, 99.99% of the time it's SP.
