Moving On Up - Discover Auto CLI

Received email today increasing my Discover limit from the $6000 SL to $9000.  This was an auto increase.  I received my Discover card the end of November 2016 so this CL increase came after approximately 90 days. I have only used the card a couple of times within the past 30 days for small purchases and paid each purchase off as soon as the charges post.

So far I like the card and the ease of using their website.  If the limit increases up to around $15k it will become my go to card.  Hopefully this will happen with the next year. I don't know their time frame for auto CLI's whether they are every 90 days or 6 months or longer.

Two things here, OP...

One, congrats on the awesome 50% increase!

Two, RUN, don't walk to the online CLI request button and hammer it right away!  Whenever you get an auto CLI from Discover, there is always more money on the table that they will give you if you hit the button again.  In many cases, hitting the CLI button following an auto-CLI results in another CLI very close or equal to the amount of the auto-CLI you just received.  In theory, you could be able to raise your limit to $12k; I'm confident regardless that you'll get something else if you request it though, and it will be a SP so you have nothing to lose!

Took you advice and went to the site.  Didn't see a button but used the pull down menu and clicked on the increase area.  It asked for income; employment; assets and housing info. At the bottom it said they may pull a credit report which could affect your credit score.  At that point it was "nuff said."  I got out of it and signed out.  I'll wait until a button appears or until they give me another auto CLI.  If a soft pull is involved ok but I won't let them do a hard pull.

Thanks for info it was worth the try.

There isn't a button per se but, you were in the right place.  Don't let the disclaimer scare you out of collecting your money on the table.  They won't HP you for using it!!!!

The only time they HP is at opening and when you ask for more than the SP allows.  Hit the butto and collect your cash!!!!

e.g. when I was testing their timing hitting the button every week they never ever pulled a HP

Yeah it's a soft pull on that request page, no worries.
