"Congratulations! Based on your creditworthiness, you have been approved for a Signature cashRewards Visa credit card. Your new credit line will be $500.00. Your APR will be prime plus 12.4%. You should receive your new card(s) in 7-10 normal mail delivery days."
As I am sooo grateful I was approved, since I thought I would be denied, I was hoping for a high CL.
I currently have the following with NFCU:
1. Checking
2. Savings
3. Money Market Savings
4. NFCU nRewards Secured ($500 CL)
Salary: 85k
Should I do a recon? If so, anyone have the back door number? Should I wait a few months and request a CLI?

I would recon instantly. You have already taking the HP. Send a secure message via the website saying "Great to have the cards, thank you blah blah, but I was hoping for a starting limit of 1500". Wait a 24hrs for the reply. Worst answer is NO.
Did you treat your secured card well with them? If so, I say send the message and see what happens.
I had a similar situation.. I applied for the cashRewards card and was approved for $500. I sent a secure message right away explaing how I appreciated being approved and that they are the best credit union etc but I was hoping to start with a $1k limit. Next day I received a message that stated my limit has been raised to $1k. Cant hurt! I wasn't brave enough to ask for 3x original limit though.
I did exactly what you said and was raised to $1500!!!! Thanks for the advice... I was so nervous but it paid off. I will continue to work on my credit in the hopes of receiving a higher CL later. Additionally, I submitted my Compensation statement of Salary as well as VA disability statements of benefits, which i suppose reinforced my recon.
I LOVE NFCU!!!
