SO Amex issued the two new Amex Everyday Cards in late April. Ifirst attempted a product change (PC) from Blue from American Express to Amex Everyday to no avail. They told me I would have to start a new application. I applied, yet was declined because of my Amex Internal Risk Score (Based on Soft Pull from March 15th, 2014). At that time it stated my Experian Score was 702. I waited a month then re-applied two days ago.
The application was in process but was on hold becuase of my credit Experian Credit Freeze. So I asked why would they need to see that if they usually do frequent soft pulls? Amex rep replied that they would need to see a new credit report/score.
I decided to pull the trigger and unlock my Experian and risk a Hard Pull (HP).....to my suprise American Express said "Congratualations, you've been approved for Amex Everyday Card with Introductory Rate of 0% for 15 months and if I spend $1000 in the next three months I'd get 10K membership reward points"! The credit limit was a little on the toy-ish side ($2000) but beggars can't be choosers....I got my foot in the door and I can always wait 60 days and try for an increase.
I now have 4 Amex products i.e. Blue from American Express ($1000) American Express Platinum (NPSL) Zync from AMerican Express (NPSL) and now American Express Everyday ($2000)....Yea Me!!!!
