yay! lmao. i only got this card for the free TU score. never used it and most likely wont either.

That's what I figured. I don't even think I am near a Walmart, but the TU score would be nice. I can't remember the last time I went to a Walmart. Just what I want, useless junk made to poor standards overseas. That kinda sounds like the crap1 credit motto.

Re: OMG!!! $10k Walmart Discover

what is your actual income if you don't mind me asking?  you might want to be careful, you're getting to the point where you could have over 100k in just revolving debt and student loans.  without income to sustain that much credit you could have issues when buying a home.  Mortgage lenders will look at amount of credit you have available to you when deciding how much of a house you can buy... if the mortgage amount is getting close to the max for your income and you have huge credit lines they might ask you to close them before they will underwrite you

Re: OMG!!! $10k Walmart Discover

I have $60-70k in personal income plus commissions. I have super low expenses though- no car debt or other debt. I don't want a mortgage for prob another decade, if ever. Buying a home isn't a near term or mid term goal for me. I suspect that I may run in to that problem when trying to buy a home, but I barely use any of it. I do have cc debt at 0%, but I have the cash I'd use to pay that invested collecting 15% in
dividends. I am actually a little worried about having more than my income in avail cred., but my creditors can see that I am responsible.

I'm sure with the cards he's got and the fact he's on this boards he should know the right way to manage credit, just cause you have high credit limits doesn't mean you'll go nuts. I prefer to have maximum credit limits I can get regardless of my income because incase **bleep** happens.

If I spent a bunch of money over the holidays, with a reasonable limit my FICO scores are going to drop A LOT if they get reported mid month etc which a lot of cards do. So my Fico score can look like a roller coaster. I prefer to have my Fico on a straighter calmer path so incase **bleep** happens my Fico will be right where it should be.

Just cause you have the cards don't mean you have to use them, After I get my house which i'm in the market for, and after 6 months I'll apply for US Cash+ and cancel my secured cards. I only want 5 cards max.

Freedom + Sapphire + US Bank Cash+  and Amex BCP + Navy Federal Platinum

I dont' see the point in anymore but maybe a Amex platinum if I start traveling more

Re: OMG!!! $10k Walmart Discover

Yeah.... I often fantasize about how I'd spend all of that credit LOL... But then I think about how bad my score would be!!!!! Hahaha. I do like to use my plastic, but I'd never go crazy with it. I treat it like cash.....and I think about how every thing I buy, every financial decision I make...will/does affect me. I actually got a public intox over the summer and had to have my dear mother take a cash advance from one of MY cred cards to get me out hahaha!!! Lol that was horrible...
But I paid it off already, and boy am I glad that was THE ONLY option at 4am in the morning as I tend to keep all cash in savings earning interest and just funnel cash into checkings as needed; obviously a three day waiting period is unacceptable when you're in JAIL hahah!!!
Sry for the rant.

Re: OMG!!! $10k Walmart Discover

Now is a great time to buy a home... I'd rather pay off my student loans a few years before I do that though! Lol I'm scared of too much debt.
