Approved back in August for $3000 (was tied as my highest limit), called underwriting today and asked for another $2000, would make it the first $5000 limit credit card. The phone call with the underwriter was kind of nervewracking, I could hardly hear her and any of the questions she asked and I hope I was answering correctly. I got approved for the $2000 and I am now in the $5000 club. I'm pretty content, but tempted to try with my Amazon store card, but it has a decent sized balance right now for a 12 month financing offer and the card is only 1 month old ($1100/$1700)
Hooray for GE.

I would not wait on Amazon.... it's a SP and if it doesn't give it to you try again the next month... or else call underwriting and tell them you need more CL to purchase more 18 month finance things for christmas! LOL
I called Amazon... he didnt ask much, I didnt say much other than... "5k please?", he came back and said "ok!" (in more words though). GE is something else... almost wish I had a walmart discover too, but I am holding strong to no more new apps.
