Living in Hawaii where gas averages $4.32 a Gallon
Local store Safeway after getting enough points you earn 20 cents off a gallon.
Then with Penfed this adds up totoal to over 40 cents off a Gallon.

Very smart! Congrats on your approval! Did your app have to go to the reviewer or did you have to submit documents to verify income? Just curious. Also, do you mind telling your income? I understand if you'd rather not, I'm just quite curious with PenFed lately. (I guess research for years from now. lmao)

They are clearly conservative... I've tried for the last few years to open accounts with them only to be told a resounding "NO", so I end up with DCU instead.

Instant Approval Didn't allow me to put how much I wanted. No Docs. 24 Hours later It's in my Account.
Remember this was all done same time I put in my application to be Member. There never was a Pending application etc.

The easiest way to get 5% gas on PenFed's cash rewards card is to open a qualifying product like a money market savings account.
But OP funded/plans to fund their MM savings with 25,000... when the minimum is 25. I mean congratulations and all, but it's one thing to be modest and another to be surprised about these things when your situation is atypical of most borrowers.
